Memolli: The ultimate app for beer lovers to track and review beers
Discover Memolli, the private beer journal app designed for beer enthusiasts to log and remember every brew they've tried.
Written by: Charlie Murphy
If you love trying new beers, whether it’s hazy IPAs, rare imports at festivals, or a casual pint at your go-to bar, keeping track of them all can be tricky. What was that killer stout from last summer? How did it stack up to the one you had downtown? I’ve been there: scattered photos in my phone, quick notes in Apple Notes, or public check-ins on Untappd for the social vibe. But those approaches always fell short for me: too disorganized, too public, or too generic. That’s why I built Memolli: a private, visual-first journal app made specifically for logging and remembering every thing I try (like beer) without the noise of social feeds or the hassle of blank-note apps.
Explore your beer history on a map
I occasionally visit a brewery in upstate New York called Woodstock Brewery and use Memolli to remember which beers I tried and if I liked them.
One of Memolli’s best features is seeing your beer history on a personal map. Every restaurant, brewery, or bar can be pinned, helping you rediscover favorites or what to try next. It’s built purely from your experiences, no public clutter or sponsored ads.
Customizable and visual-first design
Memolli is visual-first: snap photos of the label, pour, or taproom to trigger memories later. Customize fields to track what you care about: ABV, IBU, aroma, flavor notes, food pairings, or anything else. It’s quick for casual users or deep for serious beer geeks.
Works offline, travels with you
Memolli works fully offline, so you can log a beer at the bar, festival, or remote brewery without Wi-Fi. Photos and notes sync automatically when you’re back online, ideal for spontaneous sessions or travel.
A sweet spot between note-taking apps, Untappd, and Google Maps
Memolli is more focused than generic note-taking apps like Notion, Evernote, or Apple Notes, but fully private and judgment-free unlike social platforms like Untappd or Google Maps.
- Vs. Untappd: Untappd excels at social discovery: check-ins, badges, friend toasts, and seeing what others think. But if you want honest, unfiltered notes without public sharing, community pressure, or location broadcasting, Memolli keeps everything private to you. No algorithms, no badges.
- Vs. Google Maps: Great for finding breweries or reading public reviews, but it’s not built for your own tracking. Memolli’s map is yours alone: pins from your logs, colored by your ratings, with your photos and notes. No sponsored ads or strangers’ opinions. Read more on this comparison in my other blog post.
- Vs. generic note-taking apps: Notion, Evernote, Apple Notes, etc are flexible, but setting up beer-specific templates takes time and not all apps offer offline access, map-based features, or easy visual scanning. Read more on this comparison in my other blog post.
